
Urbanrevamp began in the kitchen—before the lessons, the designs, and the programs, it started with food. I’ve been cooking since I was nine, sitting in my grandma’s kitchen, watching her prepare beautiful meals for the family and the church. She believed that presentation was everything—and she meant it. Later, my mom added her own bold, unapologetic twist to those family recipes, bringing flavor, flair, and a little southern heat.
My cooking has always been a blend of the two: soul infused with love, and made to feel personal—like it was custom-made just for you. And honestly, most of my friends will tell you the same: there’s always that one dish they still remember.
The cookbook was my first Urbanrevamp project. I wanted to create something that honored my roots and my creativity. It features 22 digital recipes (plus 3 bonus ones in the paperback), a full spice and ingredient list, and playful anecdotes behind each dish. With sections like Breakfast Bar, 125th & Venice Ave, Caribbean Flavas, #JustDessert, and Urbanrevamp Signatures, this book is more than a collection of meals—it’s a taste of my story, my people, and my heart.
